They will claim that the artist travesties Mahlangu — a hero who laid down his life for the freedom of his people.
This is simplistic and Brett’s strategy is wholly licit.
The ANC appropriated the struggle, and exploited it as part of its legitimizing mythology.
As the party has ceased to honor the struggle ideals of equality and social justice, it and its propaganda are now fair game.
Brett doctors the posters to underline how the ANC betrayed both its principles and those of the heroes who died for them.

Keeping prisons filled for profit
One in 86 adult Louisianians is doing time, nearly double the national average.
Among black men from New Orleans, one in 14 is behind bars; one in seven is either in prison, on parole or on probation.
Every dollar spent on prisons is a dollar not spent on schools, hospitals and highways.
Burk Foster former professor at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, expert on Louisiana prisons:
"You have people who are so invested in maintaining the present system — not just the sheriffs, but judges, prosecutors, other people who have links to it.
They don't want to see the prison system get smaller or the number of people in custody reduced, even though the crime rate is down, because the good old boys are all linked together in the punishment network, which is good for them financially and politically." |
Inmates spend months or years in 80-man dormitories with nothing to do and few educational opportunities before being released into society with $10 and a bus ticket.

Recently, Mr. ‘Hope And Change’ Barack Obama (also known as the predator-drone-missile president), officially launched his corporate reelection campaign by shamelessly touting his role in the extra-judicial, U.S. government’s official version, of the assassination of Osama Bin Laden.
Of course, Mr. ‘Hope And Change’ said nothing of his even more recent assassination of the U.S. Constitution, when he signed into law the draconian and infamous National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
Calling for the indefinite detention of U.S. citizens in this nation without the bother of the constitutional right to the due process of being charged, having a trial, a jury, or even the right to present a legal defense.
Now, U.S. citizens can be legally ‘disappeared,’ tortured, and indefinitely imprisoned in this supposed ‘land of the free and home of the brave.’
The U.S. government’s approach in perpetually carrying out bloody wars and aggression in nations around the world is utterly insane and horrible for everyday people here and abroad.
But it is absolutely great for the small blood sucking corporate Wall Street elite who rake in trillions of dollars in profit by making bombs, fighter and bomber aircraft, war ships, missiles, bullets, land mines, and an endless array of other implements of war.

But at the heart of this situation is Chen Guangcheng, his suffering wife, and his relatives and friends being seriously abused, kept in detention, all for having the audacity to believe Chen Guangcheng should be free.
Relatives and friends dragged into this system of beatings and imprisonment because Chen Guangcheng discovered something — China is not only not free but its suppression of it citizens and their inherent rights surpass even Uzbekistan dictatorship and cruelty to its people.
